DGN Girls Light Track and Field on Fire in Conference Meet

The girls track squad made their mark on the conference field with loads of PRs and some school record performances. The Varsity placed 5th out of 7 squads while the Fr/So. came away with a runner-up finish to Lyons Township. See headlines Below!!

Two Fr/So. Records go down in flames!!!

They say that records are made to be broken and that appeared to be the case last night as two new fr/so. school records were set. Samantha Wilson Threw 34'3" to place first to break the record. On the track, the quartet of F. Kelly, Miller, Covey, & M. Kelly ran a time of 10:01 to bring down the record and place 2nd in the process.

 

Relays Set Best Marks!

The 4x800 (Moravec, K.Bonfield, Jan, Urbancik) ran a new state best time of 9:21.0 to take the conference title.

Our 4x100 (Reynolds, Schuetz, Henry, Temple-Wood) took off close to a second to run a season best 50.67

Our 4x200 consisting of Reynolds, Schuetz, Henry & Temple-Wood who was seeded in at 1:48, skipped over 1:47 to run a 1:46.92, placing 3rd.

The 4x400 M. Relay of Moravec, Jan, Urbancik, & Henry knocked off 3 seconds to run a 4:00.84

All of our relays on each level was able to beat their seed time!!

 

Urbancik & Moravec Bring the Lightning & Thunder!

Two of our mid-distance specialists were both part of our 4x8 and 4x4 conference championship relays and scored a combined total of 18 points in their one individual event.

Urbancik - Three Conference Titles (4x8, 800, 4x4) 2:14.9 4x8 split, 2:18 open 800, 59.1 4x4 split

Moravec - Two Conference Titles, one runner-up finish (1st - 4x8, 4x4 2nd - 400) 2:19.5 4x8 split, 59.86 open 400, 59.4 4x4 split (lead-off)
