Sectional VIDEO: Erin Beatty, Phoebe Covey

Downers Grove North sophomore Erin Beatty and senior Phoebe Covey qualified for the Class 3A state meet for the first time in discus. Beatty won with a personal-best 124-9 on her final attempt and Covey advanced with a third-place 119-1 on her second throw in finals that also exceeded the 118-5 qualifying standard.
